About Us

Arlette and Kaspar Rüegg have been successfully working as goldsmiths in Zurich for over 30 years. In November 2006, they fulfilled their "dream" by opening their own goldsmith studio. "Creating and creating unique pieces of jewelry, wedding rings, and other objects remains a dream come true for us."

"We've been a strong team together for years, both professionally and personally. True to the saying "it's only through travel that you really get to know each other," we decided to embark on a world and study trip in 2006. It lasted eight months in total. Back in Switzerland, the path to self-employment was relatively easy. Personally, we were only a success and opened our first studio/one-story shop in November 2006 in the Tiefenbrunnen Mill complex. The next step followed in May 2011; we moved into our fine shop at Glockengasse 2, in downtown Zurich.

We often have different ideas, yet our style is very similar. We simply complement each other well. Technical challenges, a sense of form, and attention to detail blend seamlessly. We describe our collaboration as a happy coincidence. We excel at custom-made jewelry pieces, created together with the customer. It might be a ring, earrings, or a belt buckle. We are interested in exploring different materials, the technical finesse, and the design. With these prerequisites, almost all customer wishes can be realized. We approach the work step by step. Preferences? Clothing style? Type of jewelry? Occasion? Favorite color? Favorite stones? Budget? Pleasure is the individual motive, because only unique pieces leave our studio, which always bear the "sueño" signature. It is distinctive, and that is exactly what our clients are looking for: self-confidence."

  • Arlette Rüegg

    Born and raised in Solothurn.
I discovered my love for crafts, drawing, and creativity early on. From the very beginning, it was clear that I had to become a goldsmith! In the early 1980s, I completed a four-year apprenticeship in a small goldsmith's workshop in Solothurn. This was followed by stops in Solothurn and Olten.
In 1993, I moved to Zurich, where the clientele was more international and new challenges awaited me. Working with various renowned jewelers, I gained experience in different jewelry styles and manufacturing techniques, honing my craftsmanship.
Since I began working as a goldsmith, it has been important to me to be able to participate in the entire process, from design to the creation of exclusive pieces of jewelry and ultimately their sale. This also includes providing expert advice to customers.

Since November 2006 the joint venture “sueños”.
Even today, after more than 30 years, I am still fascinated by the goldsmith's craft!
